Eric Zapakin Joins We Are Royale As Head of Production

Creative & digital agency We Are Royale (Royale) has hired Eric Zapakin as Head of Production. Zapakin brings more than a decade of production experience in branding and entertainment/sports content and marketing. He will work closely with We Are Royale Partner / Managing Director Jen Lucero, overseeing all systems and strategies for the company’s in-house creative production capabilities spanning design, animation, live-action, and VFX applications. Zapakin will also work in parallel to Head of Digital Production Beck Henderer-Peña, who directs Royale’s diverse range of next-level digital experience offerings, such as AR/VR development.

“I’m very excited to have Eric join the team here,” says Rhys Demery, Executive Producer at We Are Royale. “He brings a level of attention to detail and process-driven thinking that is hard to find. His extensive production knowledge and savviness will bring rigorous oversight and leadership to the production team that matches the creative passion of Royale.”

“Royale is synonymous with first-class design, animation, and storytelling,” adds Zapakin. “The company has grown and evolved over the last 10 years — from creatively embracing emerging technology to acting as more of a strategic partner to clients. Royale represents an exciting paradigm shift as leading brands and content creators redefine the media landscape. The ceiling here is high, and I can’t imagine a better place to realize that potential with all the fun, smart and talented people who define this company.”

Zapakin joins Royale from Imaginary Forces, where he was a Senior Producer, developing marketing strategies for theatrical studios and producing OTT content, including “Threads,” an episodic series for Verizon’s go90 video streaming service. A graduate of the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, Zapakin entered the entertainment industry at Los Angeles-based creative agency Big Picture Group. He advanced his career at branding and strategy agency Troika, climbing the ranks from Associate to Senior Producer during his six-year tenure with the company. During this time, Zapakin contributed to a wide range of assignments, including rebrands, show/content packages and 360 marketing campaigns for brands, such as Time Warner Cable, STARZ, Netflix, Hulu, HBO, CBS Sports, and ESPN.

“I look at each project as a new puzzle to solve, serving as a tactical leader who understands the delicate balance between both internal needs and our clients’ needs,” concludes Zapakin. “I look forward to extending this philosophy to Royale, ensuring we continue to be a buttoned-up partner for our clients. This will enable us to execute with a high level of creativity and efficiency, allowing the client to be an intrinsic part of the creative process.”
