Don Porfirio Selected Motion 2017 Featured Studio
Each year the motion.tv team searches far and wide – from Brooklyn to São Paulo, and from Columbus to LA, for a talented motion designer to create the show open for motion – our annual un-conference.
Our creative brief is simple. Use your imagination, be authentic, have fun. We’re told it’s the ‘dream brief’ – one that every creative hopes to get at least once in their career.
This year we’re thrilled to announce that studio Don Porfirio – led by Founder | CEO | Creative Director Roberto Puig – has been selected to create the motion 2017 show open.
Based in the beautiful city of Merída, Yucatan in southeast Mexico, this dynamic team of designers, animators, illustrators and digital artists infuse their work with a passion for great design and detail. They love good stories and strive to connect with people through the stories they tell.
Roberto Puig will be the featured artist at motion 2017 which takes place in Santa Fe, June 7-10. He will be presenting insight into the making of the motion 2017 show open project.
I’m a big believer in the power of great stories. I am a motion graphics artist and animator. Mexican by birth and Canadian of heart. I began my career in Toronto collaborating and directing projects for CBC, NBC Sports, MLB Network, DIscovery, Food Network, ESPN and many others. After my seven year Canadian adventure, I’m back in my hometown of Merída, Yucatan where I am Founder and Creative Director at Don Porfirio, a Mexican motion graphics and broadcast design studio with global vision and local soul.
