In Audio Reactive 3D Shape Morphing in After Effects, Nancy Eperjesy from mettle, shows us how to use mettle ShapeShifter AE and Trapcode Soundkeys to generate this Audioreactive animation in After Effects. This complex-looking animation is actually quite simple to create using ShapeShifter in combination with basic tools in Ae. The animation uses a Displacement Map created with the shape tools in Ae, which allows for a completely customizable technique.

Download a Demo of ShapeShifter AE and follow along,

First, take a few minutes to watch this tutorial: After Effects 3D Shape Morphing to setup your basic Shape Morph.

When you’re ready, watch this tutorial as Nancy demonstrates how to add custom audio sync and modify the displacement map. Learn specific tips that can make a difference, including animating the reflection map, and adding an overall X rotation to tie all the movements together.

Enjoy!
