2016 VES Award Winners

Winners of the 14th Annual VES Awards were announced last night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel at a ceremony hosted by comedian Patton Oswalt. The prestigious awards recognize outstanding visual effects artistry and innovation in film, animation, television, commercials and video games and the VFX supervisors, VFX producers and hands-on-the-keys artists who bring this work to life.

Ridley Scott, who helmed such blockbusters as Blade Runner, Alien, Gladiator and The Martian, received the VES Lifetime Achievement Award.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Game of Thrones received the most nominations this year and ended the evening picking up the most trophies with four apiece. Other big winners included The Revenant, which received three awards and The Good Dinosaur.
